Online Metronome
A free, steady metronome for practice — 40 to 220 BPM, with 2/3/4/6 beat patterns and tap tempo. Runs right in your browser.
Why practice with a metronome
A metronome exposes timing problems you can't hear on your own — rushing fills, dragging on string changes, uneven subdivisions. Short daily practice against a click, even just 10 minutes, builds internal timing much faster than playing without one.

Frequently asked questions
- What's a good starting tempo for practicing something new?
- Slower than you think. Drop to a tempo where you can play every note cleanly with zero mistakes, then raise it in small steps (5–10 BPM) only once that's solid.
- What does "tap tempo" do?
- Tap the button in rhythm with a song or recording a few times in a row — the metronome averages your taps and sets its BPM to match, which is faster than dialing in a number by ear.
- Does the Watar app's metronome do more than this?
- Yes — accented downbeats, haptic pulse per beat, and it stays saved alongside your tuning settings between sessions.
